The driver of the older model Honda Odyssey was apparently trying to avoid a crash with a different vehicle that suddenly entered her lane on the southbound side, when she went off the roadway, jumped a curbed, went through the bus shelter, crossed over an entrance ramp, flipped over a guardrail, went airborne, and landed on the roof of the car near East Prospect Street in Waldwick, Loving said.

"Miraculously, neither the driver nor her passenger sustained even a scratch in the mishap," Loving said. "Both were able to self-extricate prior to the arrival of first responders. A heavy-duty, specially outfitted tow truck lifted the demolished minivan from the woods; a flatbed tow truck removed it from the scene."

Waldwick police, fire, and EMS personnel responded. Allendale police assisted.
